I don’t want to feel like less of a person
I don’t want to fear my life when I walk out the door 
I don’t want to have to work twice as hard as the higher-ups 

I don’t want to feel the temperature rising everyday 
I don’t want to assume anywhere else is safer 
I don’t want my skin to offend others 

I don’t want my love to offend others 
I don’t want to say it won’t, but can’t we at least bound our hearts? 
I don’t want my voice to be silenced 

I don’t want my body to be illegal 
I don’t want to be shamed for making it legal 
And I don’t want to be recognized either 

I’m just asking, if you can, please vote. I’m just trying to feel safe out on the streets. I don’t care if you don’t like the two-party system. I don’t care if you do and Joe Biden seems like a republican. I don’t care. Just cast your vote.
I honestly kind of didn’t want to do this because I didn’t want to pressure people to take part in this, but I just got called out for being an African American. So yeah! <3

    I don't really understand politics, but I still think it's important that people vote! Even if they don't want to vote for anyone, they should still go and spoil their vote. My mum always says that, if she doesn't want to vote for anybody, she spoils it because she says it's wrong to ignore it as women fought for her right to vote! This is a great poem!
