I had never appreciated how different being alone and being lonely are. Now, I am by myself, walking down this bridge. It leads somewhere, it does.

A rusty red surrounds me, but just past it is the blue. Blue sky and sea. No clouds, no boats, no company.

    Is this a golden bridge?
A rusty red surrounds me, but just past it is the gold. A golden sun. No sky, no sea, no company.

The sun burns hotter than ever and with no one else to focus its rays on, the light consumes me

The sky breathes louder than ever and with no one else to hear its cries, the winds devours me.

The sea reaches further than ever and with no one else to see its depths, the vastness swallows me.

Am I alone.
    Am I lonely.

  • A Certain Type of Decisive

Those last two lines being written as statements instead of questions is kind of rad-- it adds a weird, unexpected change. It's like this character doesn't want to know the answer. Like they already know.
